Brief Description RAINFALL WARNING
Detailed Description 4:04 p.m. EDT Saturday 10 June 2023 Rainfall Warning in effect for: Pangnirtung Rain, heavy at times is expected. Heavy rain in Pangnirtung on Sunday. A strong storm system will bring heavy precipitation to Pangnirtung on Sunday. Snow or rain will begin early Sunday morning, then transition to rain mid-morning. Rainfall will be very heavy at times both in the community of Pangnirtung as well as the surrounding terrain. 20 to 30 mm of rain is possible on Sunday, much of it from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Temperatures will begin to cool late in the day on Sunday and the rain will change to snow. Snow will continue through Sunday night, with higher amounts possible. There are still aspects of this storm system with significant uncertainty; this rainfall warning will likely be followed by a snowfall warning if the confidence of heavy snow developing increases in the next 6 to 12 hours. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Be prepared for possible winter conditions at higher elevations. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
